Deadline No. 2
· From the 2010–2013 blog
Our second big deadline ever came went today (with a bit of a wooshing noise for my colleagues). I suspect the progress on their part is going well, when it happens, but they haven't been getting a lot of focused time lately. which kinda means that when the release comes they have each closed a grand total of... drum roll... zero tickets! fuck! So we talked tonight, and they kinda hummed and hawed around until we started poking through the graphs (which still report like 70hrs of work) and then let the cat out of the bag. I'm not upset with them. I just want to choke Steve's employer and hit Mike until he commits something. so, alas, I dont have any good news to report - but I can talk about my progress! Of my 12 tickets, I have closed 8, logged a little over 60 hours of work (there is an incredible amount of time that goes into all of the other bits, especially the architecture discussions lately), and am just 4 hours away from closing 3 more (most of which i finished last night). leaving me with one very large and open ended low priority ticket. which is pretty good in my books! The only other thing of note is that my tickets accounted for a little less than half of the milestone time and in hindsight its gonna have to be higher on the next one. As a result of my compatriots slipping the date - we have pushed back to Friday. So I'm going to try and close off this last sticky issue tomorrow and then work on a bunch of my other un-versioned tasks. anyway, not much else to say today, but if you happen to employ one of my partners, be a nice guy and give them the day off so they can go home and get some damn work done!
