Damn guys can't you do a slightly better tutorial or example files? This shit is terribly complicated to provide nothing but the old and the broken. In case anyone is jammed like I was - the thing to do is:
- Download and install / easy_install the latest version of both django and django-cms
- Download the slightly older stable release
- CD to the examples directory
- Edit the setting.py file and turn off collaboration
- Sync your db
- Migrate your db
- Start the server, go to admin, create a page
- You should now be good!
I will post more as I learn more. but that should get you unblocked if you were jammed like I was. 6 hours looks funny when its circling the drain...
