The New Living Plan
· From the 2010–2013 blog
OK, so we have a new plan. We can't afford a place right now. We aren't ramen profitable, we in fact have no product, no users, no hiring to do, and beyond how much fun it would be - no reason to spend a while pile of money on rent and food when our parents are willing to help us. And you know - I'm kinda proud of us. We stepped back. We put personal image and preference aside and made a decision in the best interests of the company. and more or less, we bought ourselves another couple months of runway. Its things like this that are gonna make us attractive to investors. its the ramen profitability, the prioritization of costs and do whatever it takes attitude. The new plan, is that as soon as Steve is done in San Fransisco (probably around the end of the November) he will move into my parents house with me. For a change of scenery and to keep our parents from hating us - we will then swap back and forth between Rochester and Exeter until, hopefully by February we find some investment, are maybe ramen profitable, or need to grow and network the business in a bigger center. At which point we move out and find a place somewhere like Toronto. And if anywhere along the line shit falls apart (which probably wont happen, but is good to plan for) we move out anyway, same as we were going to. While I'm a little bummed that the vibrancy and life have to wait - I am pretty excited about how well we are positioning the company , and that everyone is aligned with it as the highest priority. Also I just want to say a huge thank-you to both my parents and Steve parents for helping make this work - it means the world to us!
